When looking for a carpet cleaning or any company for that matter, you should do your research. Carpet cleaning companies are all different and operate in different ways. These are some tools to help you check if this company has a consistent reputation for service and excellence. If you can’t find anything overly negative about them, give them a call and ask a few questions.

Here are some questions you should ask:

What method of carpet cleaning do they use?

Do they pre-treat carpet?

What equipment do they use?

What guarantees do they offer?

Method

Picking a good carpet cleaning company sounds easy, but it is not that simple. The reason is because there are many different methods of carpet cleaning such as water extraction (aka Steam Cleaning), dry foam cleaning, rotary shampoo etc. All of these methods work, but there are major differences in these methods. Some clean better than others and the most recommended way is Hot Water Extraction. This method actually uses a hot water solution that is sprayed on the surface area of the carpet loosening dirt, oil, and grease then vacuumed up and therefore the one of the few methods that can get a real “deep clean.”

Pre-Treatment

Be sure to ask if they use a pre-treatment process before they clean your carpet. A pre-treatment process should be applied some time before you clean the carpet. Allowing the treatment process to work will loosen dirt, grease and grime. Agitation is also very important so a good technician will know how to use the carpet wand to give you the best clean. This method ensures that your carpet will be much cleaner.

Equipment

Quality equipment is very important as well. Most water extraction companies use portable or truck mounted water extraction cleaning equipment. Both work very well and some prefer truck mounted systems because the air is exhausted outside.

Guarantees

A qualified technician is important. It reduces the chances of them damaging or ruining your carpet. You should know their policies on any warranties or guarantees, just in case a mistake has happened.

now gone and so has WHSmith, Marks and Spencer and McDonalds.

Daniel’s has been demolished but is being replaced with a block of

Recent history has been a story of a gentle decline in West Ealing

interest in West Brompton is Brompton Cemetery. The Earl’s Court

exhibition centre is literally across the road from the station, but

has its main entrance elsewhere and is generally associated with the

adjacent locality of Earl’s Court. In reality, the number of

households who might identify themselves as part of West Brompton

would probably be those within the catchment area of the Underground

station. Other places include Chelsea Harbour, the now former London

Transport Lots Road power station and the Finborough Theatre.

West Brompton is bounded by West Kensington and Earl’s Court to the

north, Chelsea to the east, Fulham Broadway to the south and Fulham

to the west.

The nearest significant local centres are North End Road to the west

(which includes a street market), Fulham Broadway to the south and

Earl’s Court to the north.

Warwick Avenue opened on 31 January 1915 on the Bakerloo line’s

extension from Paddington to Queen’s Park.[2] The station is located

at the junction of Warwick Avenue, Warrington Crescent and Clifton

Gardens. For a time prior to its opening, the proposed name for the

station was Warrington Crescent.[3]

There are no surface buildings and the station is accessed by two

sets of steps to a sub-surface ticket hall. It was one of the first

London Underground stations built specifically to use escalators

rather than lifts.[4] A plain, utilitarian brick ventilation shaft

has been built on the traffic island in the middle of the road to

improve underground ventilation of the tunnels.

Teddington is a suburban area in the south-west of Greater London,

England in the historic and former postal county of Middlesex on the

north bank of the River Thames, between Hampton Wick and Twickenham.

It stretches inland from the River Thames to Bushy Park, in the

London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

It is notable for Teddington Lock, the longest (200 m long)[1] lock

on the River Thames, which marks the upstream limit of tides.

Teddington is mostly residential but is bisected by an almost

continuous road of shops, offices and other facilities running from

the river to Bushy Park. There are three clusters of offices on this

route: at the lock Teddington Studios and Haymarket Group form a

media hub whilst on the edge of Bushy Park the NPL, NWML and LGC

form a scientific centre. Around Teddington Station and the town

centre are a number of offices in industries such as Direct

Marketing and IT, and offices outside this axis include Tearfund.

Several riverside businesses and houses were redeveloped in the last

quarter of the twentieth century as blocks of riverside flats.

In 2001 the RNLI opened the Teddington Lifeboat Station, one of the

four Thames lifeboat stations. The station became operational in

January 2002 and is the only volunteer station on the river.

A large part of Perivale is used in the form of a business and

Before the 1930s residential building expansion, the fields of

Osterley is a district in the London Borough of Hounslow in West

London. It is situated approximately 10 miles (16.1 km) west south-

west of Charing Cross.

Osterley lies north of the A4 (The Great West Road) and extends

further northwards beyond the M4 Motorway. Syon Lane forms the

border to the east, while the border with the town of Heston lies to

the west.

Osterley is principally a rural district encompassing the large

ancestral private estate of Osterley Park and its house. These were

formerly owned by the Jersey family and were used during World War

II as the home for Tom Wintringham’s Home Guard training school.

They are now National Trust property. During the inter-war period of

the 1930s when the Great West Road was completed ribbon development

housing appeared, and this gradually expanded to form the

comparatively small residential sections within Osterley.

Besides Osterley House and Park, the district is also known for

embracing one of the London residences of The Sultan of Brunei (The

Aviary Farm in Windmill Lane). The town is also home to the new

studios of Sky News.

The electoral ward of Osterley and Spring Grove now has its own

Notting Hill is an area in West London, England close to the north-

western corner of Hyde Park, in the Royal Borough of Kensington and

Chelsea. It is a cosmopolitan district known as the location for the

annual Notting Hill Carnival, the setting for the 1999 film Notting

Hill starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, and for being home to

the Portobello Road Market. [1]

Notting Hill has a contemporary reputation as an affluent and

fashionable area[2]; known for attractive terraces of large

Victorian townhouses, and high-class shopping and restaurants

(particularly around Westbourne Grove and Clarendon Cross). A Daily

Telegraph article in 2004 used the phrase “The Notting Hill Set” [3]

to refer to a group of young Conservative politicians, such as

leader David Cameron and shadow Chancellor George Osborne. However,

the large houses have also provided multi-occupancy rentals for much

of the 20th century, attracting Caribbean immigrants in the 1950s

who eventually clashed with the indigenous Teddy boys in the Notting

Hill race riots.

Notting Hill has had an association with artists and “alternative”

culture since its development in the 1820s.[4][5] There are also

areas of deprivation to the north,[6] sometimes referred to as North

Kensington, or Ladbroke Grove, from the name of the street.

North Kensington is an area of west London lying north of Notting

Hill Gate and south of Harrow Road.

North Kensington is the key neighbourhood of Notting Hill. It is

where most of the violence of the Notting Hill race riots of 1958

occurred, where the Notting Hill Carnival started and where most of

the scenes in the film, Notting Hill were shot.

Even the area’s main transport hub, Ladbroke Grove tube station, was

originally called Notting Hill from its opening in 1864 until 1880,

and Notting Hill & Ladbroke Grove between then and 1919, when it was

renamed Ladbroke Grove (North Kensington). It acquired its current

more simple name in 1938. The area was also once served by St.

Quintin Park and Wormwood Scrubs railway station, until it closed in

1940.

Estate agents now call the super-rich area to the south Notting

Hill; they are in fact referring to the neighbourhoods of Notting

Hill Gate and Holland Park.

North Kensington was once an area well-known for its slum housing,

as documented in the photographs of Roger Mayne. Yet property prices

have now reached dizzying heights as hordes of international

investment bankers buy up the stuccoed Victorian houses.

Waves of immigrants have arrived for at least a century including,

but certainly not limited to, the Spanish, the Irish, the Jews, the

West Indians, the Moroccans and many from the Horn of Africa and

Eastern Europe. This constant renewal of the population makes the

area one of the most cosmopolitan in the world.

Though Ladbroke Grove is the area’s main thoroughfare, its best

known street is Portobello Road with its street market. Many locals

say that Golborne Road, at the northern end of Portobello Road, is a

good representation of what Portobello Road was like before

companies like Starbucks and American Apparel colonised Portobello.

North Kensington also has the largest Moroccan population in

England.

Mayfair is named after the annual fortnight-long May Fair that took

place on the site that is Shepherd Market today (from 1686 until it

was banned in that location in 1764). Until 1686, the May Fair was

held in Haymarket, and after 1764, it moved to Fair Field in Bow

because the well-to-do residents of the area felt the fair ‘lowered

the tone’ of neighbourhood[1].

Mayfair is roughly bordered by Hyde Park to the west, Oxford Street

to the north, Piccadilly and Green Park to the south and Regent

Street to the east. Most of the area was first developed between the

mid 17th century and the mid 18th century as a fashionable

residential district, by a number of landlords, the most important

of them the Grosvenor family. The freehold of a large section of

Mayfair also belongs to the Crown Estate.

The district is now mainly commercial, with many offices in

converted houses and new buildings, including major corporate

headquarters, a concentration of hedge funds, and real estate

businesses. Rents are among the highest in London and the world.

There remains a substantial quantity of residential property as well

as some exclusive shopping and London’s largest concentration of

luxury hotels and many restaurants. Buildings in Mayfair include the

United States embassy in Grosvenor Square, the Royal Academy of

Arts, The Handel House Museum, the Grosvenor House Hotel and

Claridge’s.

The renown and prestige of Mayfair has grown in the popular mind due

to its designation as the most expensive property on the British

Monopoly set.

The Parish Church of Saint Anne, Kew

Kew is best known for being the home of the Royal Botanic Gardens

(now a world heritage site). Other points of interest include Kew

Palace and The National Archives (previously known as the Public

Records Office).

Kew village refers to several attractive parades of shops adjoining

Kew Gardens station. It contains a mixture of independent retailers,

several restaurants, including the well-reviewed The Glasshouse, and

numerous cafes. Most of Kew developed in the late 19th century,

following the arrival of the District Line of the Underground, and

is characterised by large detached or semi-detached houses. It is a

popular (and expensive) residential area because of its transport

links and proximity to Kew Gardens.

Among those buried at Saint Anne’s Church, Kew, are Richard Levett,

Lord Mayor of London and former owner of Kew Palace and members of

his family, including Lincoln’s Inn barrister Levett Blackborne, who

sold Kew Palace to the Royal family.[1] Also buried at Saint Anne’s

are William Aiton, first keeper of the gardens at Kew; English

portrait and landscape painter Thomas Gainsborough; Sir William

Hooker, director of the Royal Gardens at Kew, and father of English

botanist and explorer Joseph Dalton Hooker; Rev. Thomas Haverfield,

chaplain to the Duke of Sussex, a son of King George III; and Johann

Zoffany, German neoclassical painter active in England.

It is an urban area and was named in the 2001 census as the most

population of 158,919 at 13,244 per square kilometre (the land area

A small area on the eastern edge of the London Borough of Brent,

Kensal Green borders the boroughs of Westminster to the East, and

Kensington and Chelsea to the South. Surrounding neighbourhoods

include Willesden Green to the north, Harlesden to the West,

Brondesbury and Queens Park to the East and Ladbroke Grove to the

south.

The names Kensal Green and Kensal Rise are used interchangeably to

denote the same neighbourhood, although some do attempt to

differentiate between the areas based on proximity to the local tube

and train stations. Roughly speaking, the area west of Chamberlayne

Road and south of Kensal Rise railway station is considered Kensal

Green while east of Chamberlayne Road and north of the station is

considered Kensal Rise. These boundaries are by no means fixed

however and residents are known to use both terms with little regard

for geographical accuracy.

A third area south of Harrow Road, around the area of Kensal Road is

infrequently referred to as Kensal Town. Since Harrow Road is

generally considered to be the southern boundary of Kensal Green,

most residents class Kensal Road and its environs as part of

Westbourne Park. Once again, this is in no way an official

classification.

Isleworth (pronounced /ˈaɪzəlwɜrθ/ EYE-zl-wurth) is a small town of

Saxon origin sited within the Borough of Hounslow in west London,

England. It lies immediately east of the town of Hounslow and west

of the River Thames and its tributary the River Crane.

Isleworth’s original area of settlement, alongside the Thames, is

known as ‘Old Isleworth’. The north-west corner of the town,

bordering on Osterley to the north and Lampton to the west, is known

as ‘Spring Grove’.

Isleworth’s former Thames frontage of approximately one mile,

excluding that of the Syon estate, was reduced to little over half a

mile in 1994 when a borough boundary realignment was effected in

order to unite the district of St Margarets wholly within the

Borough of Richmond.[1] As a result, Isleworth’s boundary with the

Thames is now almost entirely overshadowed by the nine-acre islet of

Isleworth Ait. The River Crane flows into the Thames south of the

Ait, and its distributary the Duke of Northumberland’s River west of

the Ait.

As the years and decades go by, bringing with them borough

amalgamations, boundary changes, new churches and parishes and

arbitrary postal codes, the actual town boundaries in some areas can

be unclear unless researched. The rivers Thames, Crane and Brent

represent clear and unequivocal boundaries, but notwithstanding this

in certain areas the town’s demarcations with Hounslow and Brentford

have become somewhat vague.

Holland Park is a district and a public park in the Royal Borough of

Kensington and Chelsea, in west central London in England. Holland

Park is widely regarded[citation needed] as one of the most romantic

parks in London, due to its abundant wildlife and secluded

hideaways.

Holland Park has a reputation as an affluent and fashionable area,

known for attractive terraces of large Victorian townhouses, and

high-class shopping and restaurants. There are many popular shopping

destinations located around Holland Park such as High Street

Kensington, Notting Hill, Holland Park Avenue, Portobello Market,

Westbourne Grove, Clarendon Cross, and Ledbury Road.

Though there are no official boundaries, they are roughly Kensington

High Street to the south, Holland Road to the west, Holland Park

Avenue to the north and Kensington Church Street to the east.

Holland Park Avenue is at the boundaries of four CAS wards: Norland,

Holland, Pembridge, and Campden.
Kyoto Garden at Holland Park

The northern half or so of the park is semi-wild woodland, the

central section around the ruins of Holland House is more formal

with several garden areas, and the southernmost section is used for

sport. Holland House is now a fragmentary ruin, having been

devastated by enemy bombing in 1940, but a substantial part of its

grounds were preserved from development and taken over by the local

council. ‘Holland Park’ contains a famous Orangery, a cricket pitch,

tennis courts, a Japanese garden, a youth hostel, one of London’s

best equipped children’s playgrounds, squirrels and (impressively

for a London park) peacocks. Today the remains of the house form a

backdrop for the open air Holland Park Theatre, which is the home of

Opera Holland Park. The green-roofed Commonwealth Institute lies to

the south.

Middlesex, but is now part of area known as ‘West London’.

The most prominent landmarks in the suburb are the A40, a large road

that connects Central London with the M40 motorway, Horsenden Hill

85 metres (280 ft) above sea level, the small Parish Church of Holy

Greenford is considered to be birthplace of the modern organic
