Hampton is a suburban area, centred on an old village on the north

bank of the River Thames, in the London Borough of Richmond upon

Thames in England. The population is about 18,000. It is served by

Hampton railway station.

The Anglo-Saxon parish of Hampton included present-day Hampton,

Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick and Hampton Court which together are

called The Hamptons. The name ‘Hampton’ may come from the Anglo-

Saxon words “Hamm” meaning an enclosure in the bend of a river and

Hammersmith is an urban centre in the London Borough of Hammersmith

and Fulham in west London approximately 5 miles (8km) west of

Charing Cross on the north bank of the River Thames. One of west

London’s key transport hubs and commercial and employment centres,

and home to several multinational company offices, it is focused on

the two London Underground stations, bus station and road network

node at Hammersmith Broadway.

Greenford, historically Greenford Magna, is a suburb in the London

Borough of Ealing in west London, England. Greenford is one of the

oldest recorded places in Ealing, first referred to in a legal

document dated AD 845. Historically, it is part of the county of

Middlesex, but is now part of area known as ‘West London’.

The most prominent landmarks in the suburb are the A40, a large road

that connects Central London with the M40 motorway, Horsenden Hill

85 metres (280 ft) above sea level, the small Parish Church of Holy

Cross (14th century) and Betham House, built by Edward Betham (c.

1780).

The small suburb of Perivale is considered to be part of Greenford,

and was referred to as Greenford Parva (Little Greenford) until the

15th century.

Greenford is considered to be birthplace of the modern organic

chemical industry, as it was at William Perkin’s chemical factory in

North Greenford, by the Grand Union Canal that the world’s first

aniline dye was discovered in March 1856. Perkin called his amazing

discovery ‘mauveine’. Today there is a blue plaque marking the spot

in Oldfield Lane North, just south of the Black Horse Public House.

The former Rockware glassworks on the canal is commemorated by

Rockware Avenue.

Greenford is one of the most culturally diverse areas in West

London, accommodating people from: India, Caribbean, Kenya, the

Middle-East, Poland, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Macedonia and many more.

When walking down Greenford Broadway today it can be hard to

determine the most prevalent ethnicity in this area.[citation

needed]Since the accommodation of Poland into the EU alarge influx

of Polish has occurred since the EU enlargement. At times it seems

the ever present Irish community has been superseded by the Poles.

Fulham (pronounced “fullum”) is an area of south-west London in the

London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, (the successor to the

Metropolitan Borough of Fulham) located 3.7 miles (6.0 km) south

west of Charing Cross. It is situated in between Putney and Chelsea.

Fulham was formerly the seat of the diocese of “Fulham and

Gibraltar”, and Fulham Palace the former official home of the Bishop

of London, (now a museum), the grounds of which are now divided

between public allotments and an elegant botanical garden.

Having been through many transformations in its history, today it is

a green London suburb within close reach of areas such as Chelsea

and Kensington and this is reflected in the local house prices. It

Two Premiership football clubs, Fulham and Chelsea, are situated in

Fulham. The former Lillie Bridge Grounds (which hosted the second FA

Cup Final and the first ever amateur boxing matches) was also in

Fulham.

Elsham is a village in North Lincolnshire, close to the M180 and the

former route of the A15. The A15 (built in 1978) traverses the old

runways of the old RAF Elsham Wolds airfield. Nearby is Elsham Hall.

The village is a few miles north of Brigg.

Elsham is the birthplace of the agricultural engineer Richard

Hornsby.

Bayswater is an area of west London in the City of Westminster. It

is a built-up district located 3 miles (4.8 km) west north-west of

Charing Cross and borders the north of Hyde Park over Kensington

Bayswater is one of London’s most cosmopolitan areas, with the

significant diversity of the local population added to by having one

of London’s highest concentration of hotels. Notably, there is a

significant Arab population towards Edgware Road, a large number of

Addlestone is a town in the Runnymede Borough of Surrey, England.

Immediate surrounding towns and villages include Weybridge,

Ottershaw, Chertsey, and New Haw. It is near Junction / 11 / of the

M25 motorway and is served by Addlestone railway station on the

Chertsey Branch Line. The M25 motorway passes to the west of the

town, and cut some roads into two when built; so roads such as

Liberty Lane turned into Liberty Rise and Liberty Lane. The main

road in Addlestone is Station Road which is a linear development;

shops include Tesco and Iceland as well as the N.H.S doctors’

surgery, not to mention the countless charity shops that line the

highstreet. The high street also features many fast food and

Acton is a place in west London, United Kingdom situated 6.4 miles

(10.3 km) west of Charing Cross. At the time of the 2001 census,

Acton, comprising the wards of East Acton, Acton Central, South

Acton and Southfield, had a population of 53,689 people.[1]

North Acton, West Acton, East Acton, South Acton, Acton Green, Acton

Acton means “oak farm” or “farm by oak trees”, and is derived from
